Homewood Wedding in Asheville, NC · Jamie + Grayson

A few weeks back, I had the pleasure to shoot with the amazing Brie Castell.  She is the owner of a fine art photography gallery in Asheville, NC that exhibits avante garde photography from around the world.  Brie herself is pretty remarkable.  Besides owning and operating Castell Photography, she exhibits her work internationally, and is a photography professor at Brevard College.  I did say that she is amazing, right?  Please check out her amazingness (yes, I made up that word) here.  I absolutely love her gallery.

Brie shoots a select number of weddings a year.  Of course I was elated when she invited me to shoot Jamie and Grayson’s wedding with her in a neighborhood called Montford, in Asheville, NC.  Jamie and Grayson’s ceremony took place outside at The Glen and their reception has held at the gorgeous Homewood.   Jamie planned a simple, natural, and elegant ceremony and reception.
Getting ready in Homewood’s bridal suite and all of the pretty details.
This wedding was truly a family affair.  Jamie’s future mother in law did Jamie’s hair.
Those priceless moments with one of her besties!
Homewood in Asheville is an English Stone Manor built in 1927.  Homewood was originally build as a private home.  The site itself is stunning.  It reminds me of a mini stone castle.  The Glen is directly across the street from Homewood.  You start by traveling several flights of stairs and winding paths and end up in a secluded little stone hideaway nested in the forest. The Glen is simple, yet elegant. The nature surrounding The Glen just engulfs you.

The stunning Homewood.

The traditions.
First dance.

Once the traditions ended, Jamie and Grayson had just about everyone (yes, really, almost everyone) on the dance floor.  Their reception turned into an all out celebration.

The Robot (I couldn’t resist posting these).

 Jamie’s mom documenting the action!

The night ended with a final dance and Grayson whisking Jamie off to the airport to start their honeymoon.

…But not before that final kiss …
